The inaugural My Store Matters retailer
forum was held on Monday 18th March 2013 at Diageo's Customer
Collaboration Centre (CCC). Based in West London, the CCC is a
unique space dedicated to facilitating Diageo's collaborative
planning with its retail customers.
The forum was designed to provide an
opportunity for Diageo and a group of leading independent retailers
to share insights, challenges and learnings, in order to develop
actionable recommendations that will help identify and realise
growth opportunities in alcohol. The event was attended by eight
award-winning independent retailers from England and Scotland, and
hosted by Diageo's Category Development team.
The morning covered a range of topics
whilst discussing what has worked in 2012 and what retailers can do
to drive growth in 2013. Opportunities include price marked packs,
growth within the Premix segment, in-store theatre for new product
launches, developing a store's brand image, offering shoppers value
above and beyond price, full basket solutions, raising the bar on
execution, and engendering staff loyalty.
The Diageo Category Development team then
shared the outputs of research which lead to the development of the
category growth drivers shared on this site.
More of the outputs from this
session will be shared on this site soon.
